My love of the natural grace and beauty of trees began as my maternal grandmother taught me the names and characteristics of the Wisconsin hardwoods. Today that love and deep connection are revealed in my art. My life journey has taken me across the country living in the Southwest, Pacific Northwest, Northeast, Plains and Wisconsin. In each area I have been intrigued with the various trees growing in that region. My tree sculptures depict trees that have spoken to me . I place them on bases that reflect their natural environment: rock, driftwood and occasionally glass. I also enjoy painting.
I am the mother of two daughters and grandmother of two wonderful kids. I moved back “home” in November and am glad to be part of the Red Door again! My favorite activities: sculpting, painting and teaching. I have been a special education teacher in public schools and I am currently a semi-retired tutor and small business owner.
