Annual – SW Wisconsin WRAP
Richland Area Arts Council was a co-sponsor of an exciting joint adult Wisconsin Regional Art Program (WRAP) and WRAP-Teen event in the spring of 2024. The venue was the Wyoming Valley Cultural Arts Center, a Frank Lloyd Wright building located just south of Spring Green. Co-sponsors were the Association of Wisconsin Artists, River Valley Arts that provided a game-changing grant, Wyoming Valley Center and the Wisconsin Arts Board joined together to promote the event.
A prominent artist Kay Brathol-Hostvet judged the show and offered an informative critique of one piece by every artist whether or not an award winner. Art by adults and teens were interspersed along the walls and it was difficult to tell the difference in subject or execution.
Our presenter was Jonathon Wohl who runs the Edward Wohl woodworking studio established by his father and known for one of a kind unique and functional furniture and implements sold all over the U.S. and abroad. Wohl, an art, music, and physics major, presented a multi-media show utilizing the breadth of his skill and background.
RAAC intends to continue this unique collaboration with both adult and teen artists and co-sponsor a similar event in the spring of 2025.
