I’m drawn toward scenes in the landscapes of Wisconsin. When hiking or in the car my thoughts take me to,”how could I capture this in a painting ?” The changing seasons are a constant source of inspiration. Watercolor is my favorite medium. I love the transparency, and the intermingling of colors. it is exciting and challenging to create a painting that I am happy with and it gives me a lot of satisfaction.
The past 10 years I have been painting more since retiring as an elementary art teacher in the Green Bay public schools. My husband and I moved to Spring Green and it is here where I feel motivated to create and explore with watercolor.
I also teach an after school art class for children at the Spring Green Community Library.
In November 2015, Patricia received an Honorable Mention at the UW Madison Hospital Artful Women exhibit for her painting titled “Solitude”.
